George Carlin Quotes In Honor Of George Carlin
I was deeply saddened when I read of the passing of the great George Carlin. I could not believe that I would never again get to see this great comic perform live. I will be moving back to Las Vegas in August and was planning on seeing his show as soon as I got back there.
If you were to look at the history of Stand Up Comedy there are only a handful of comics you can credit with changing the face of comedy and George Carlin was in the top 5. He gave other comics permission to be themselves. No longer did they need to fit into a mold of conformity.
But it was much more then that for George Carlin. Yes he swore allot. Sure he was at time crude and some would even say vulgar. But for George it was not so much about the words. No it was about much more. It was about Freedom Of Speech. It was about having the right to say what he wanted to say when and where he wanted to say it. Fighting for Free Speech was one of the most important things in his life.
George Carlin, you will be missed but never forgotten.
George Carlin on Death - RIP
